Building a stronger home/school connection........
North Side Families -
We are always looking for ways to improve in all aspects within our school and community. We cannot do this alone! You are an integral part of the success of North Side Elementary School! We will be conducting a parent/family survey later this month to ask for your feedback. This feedback will cover:
1. Ways to provide more opportunities for family engagement through events and classroom
support.
2. Committees involving both school and family.
3. Best means of communication between school and home.
4. Feedback on school procedures.
5. Helping us to build community partnerships to advocate for North Side.
We hope you can take the time to support us and complete the survey so that we may make needed changes to strengthen our family unity.
"In the tapestry of life, we're all connected. Each one of us is a gift to those around us helping each other be who we are, weaving a perfect picture together." -Anita Moorjani-

Bus Change Requests
If you need to change your bus location, please go to the North Side website, https://www.eastnoble.net/o/north-side-elementary, and follow these directions:
Click on the "Menu" at the top of the home page. Click the “For Families” tab and then the "Transportation" tab. When the drop down menu appears, you will see a link called “Transportation Change Request.” When you click that link, you will be taken to a form that you can fill out and submit electronically. It will notify transportation via email that a request has been submitted and they will begin working on fulfilling the request. Once arrangements have been made and confirmed with drivers, transportation will communicate the arrangements to parents.

Attendance:
We have started a new attendance competition between classes! Each week, the class with the best attendance will be rewarded wit a traveling trophy and treats. Please visit our social media sites for class pictures of each week's winning class. For January, our winning classes included: Miss Hayward's class (week 1); Mrs. Short's class (week 2); Mrs. Maag's, Mrs. Weldon's, and Miss Lerch's classes tied for week 3; and Mrs. Buhro's class (week 4). Congratulations to all of these classes!!!!
Please continue to share the importance of attendance with your child(ren).
Car Line:
A few things I have noticed at morning car drop off:
- Please continue to pull up as far as you can. Pay attention to the staff members directing and helping.
- Staff members on duty will be wearing bright yellow safety vests soon.
- Please stay in your vehicle and have your student exit from the right side of the vehicle.
This keeps the line moving, but more importantly, keeps the students safe!
- Make sure your student has everything ready to go when you pull up in the line so they may exit quickly.
Safety:
Safety is a priority at North Side and every school in East Noble School Corporation. We strive to make all students, staff and visitors to feel safe when coming into our school. Please remember that the only unlocked door during the school day is the front entrance off of Harding Street. Visitors need to check in at the office and get a visitor sticker if moving about in the building.
We also practice drills every month to ensure that students and staff know what to do in case of an emergency. The month of January included a fire drill and lock down. February will involve a fire drill and a shelter in place.
Please contact me if you have any questions about the drills or safety of our school and students.
