WBMS Friday Notes
August 25th- Sept 1
Reflections from Ms. Perkins
Parents and Guardians,
Even with the setback of schedule changes this week, our students came in with positive attitudes ready to learn. Thank you for helping them understand that change is not always bad. Their maturity and resilience was astounding.
I am proud of the learning our teachers and students are undertaking each day – hands on, thoughtful, relevant, challenging, and fun are the descriptors that come to mind. Getting into classes and watching students’ eyes light up when “the lightbulb goes off” is my favorite part of the day. Their excitement is contagious! Many photos of the week’s instructional activities are included in the visual recap above so you can enjoy some of that happiness too.
Remember that Friday, September 1 is a Webb Bridge Professional Learning day; our students will be home while our staff dives into this year’s professional development.
A special thank you to our 6th grade parents who joined us for Parent University this week to learn more about Surfaces.
Have a restful and joyful long weekend!
In collaboration,
Rebecca Williams Perkins
Principal, Webb Bridge Middle School

My Touchscreen Isn't Responding
- Start by looking for physical problems with your Surface screen. Look for any hard-to-notice cracks or any sign of damage or displacement. This is a sign that you need screen repair. If there’s no damage, then get a clean, soft cloth and clean the screen. Sometimes a layer of grime or grease will prevent the touchscreen from working correctly, and it’s best to rule out the obvious causes first.
- If software is the problem, you may be able to fix it by restarting your Surface. You can quickly restart by visit the Start Menu, selecting Power, and choosing Restart.
- Windows allows you to adjust touchscreen calibration as well – if calibration has suddenly gone wonky, this could be causing your problems. Press the Windows Logo key and enter calibrate mode with the arrow keys – select “Calibrate the screen for pen or touch.” Using the arrow keys and the tab key, select Reset to restore to factory settings or Yes to re-calibrate. Try both if possible to see if they can solve your problem.
