Spring Professional Development Event: Moving Beyond The Masters

As we approach the end of the spring semester, IE21CL will host one last installment of our professional development speaker series. Speakers are presenters will address the following questions:


*****What will it take to get in and get out of a Comp. Rhet. PhD program?


*****Which programs in adult education are poised for growth?


*****How do I land a job teaching English abroad?


This event will be held in NAC 1/211 and is free and open to all.

The NYC Adult Basic Education 36th Annual Conference

Saturday, May 16th, 8am-4:15pm

At the 36th Annual NYC ABE Conference there will be presentations on best practices in BE/HSE/TASC, the Common Core, ESL Literacy/ESOL, Work Readiness, School Support and Instructional Technology by educators from CUNY, the New School, the New York Public Library, OACE DOE, DYCD, CBOs, the NYC RAEN and the Mayor’s Office.


IE21CL has agreed to fund up to six members to attend this conference. There are two (2) spots remaining on our delegation. Contact Joel Thomas, Executive Director at joelt973@gmail.com before Friday May 8, 2015 if interested in attending.

IE21CL End of Semester Party

Join us for our End of Semester Party and celebrate with us as we bring the second year of the institute to a close and install the newly elected executive board for 2015-2016.

Annual Language & Literacy Graduation Party

Join us for our annual Language & Literacy potluck celebrating the graduating class of 2015 and welcoming the new students joining the program.


This event will be held in Shepard Hall Room 205 and is open to all members of the L&L Community. RSVP and Potluck Sign Up from the 2015 Graduating Class Committee will follow shortly.
