Welcome Back!!!
Hixson Hosts Open House 2022!
On August 18, 2022, many Hixson students along with their parents participated in Open House. It was a huge success. Students were able to find their classes, meet their teachers, and decorate their lockers. Food trucks were available for a quick bite to eat! It was great to welcome back our students for another great school year!
FIRST DAY BACK ACTIVITIES!
FASTbridge
At the beginning of the year and throughout the year, teachers use various tools to gather information on student learning and assess progress on IEP goals. One of the tools that Special School District uses is FASTbridge. It is the district expectation that all students in grades 2nd-8th with reading and math goals complete FASTbridge screeners three times a year. This screening data is collected to help teachers in preparing lessons and writing goals to help students demonstrate progress on learning standards. FASTbridge is the one consistent tool that is used by special education teachers throughout St. Louis county that offers screening information and is used to progress monitor on IEPs. Because of other assessments that are administered at the beginning of the year, special education teachers will be administering the FASTbridge screeners at the beginning of October. Teachers will be reviewing this information with members of the IEP team. They also will be collaborating within data teams to develop strategies to increase progress and goal attainment.

The Webster Groves district Parent Advisory Council (PAC) was formed by families who expect that children with disabilities and/or unique learning needs are educated effectively, afforded the dignity of belonging, and valued throughout all Webster Groves School District learning opportunities and experiences. PAC representatives communicate regularly and directly with Special School District (SSD) and Webster Groves administrators about the needs and interests of students who have IEPs and 504 plans. We hope that as we continue to grow, our membership will be representative of the full diversity of our student body and their families. “Like” the Webster Groves PAC Facebook page or contact us for more information about our meetings or if you have any questions or concerns. We are here to help!
