BARBER BULLETIN
AUGUST EDITION
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Tomorrow, Monday, August 4, we will welcome our newest hires to the building for a community tour and to acclimate them to Pontiac!
This Wednesday we host our 2nd SWAP day of the summer in the cafeteria. We are looking forward to welcoming almost 40 of you to focus on our implementation of MTSS.
Thursday, August 8 is also a busy day at our school as we welcome new Kindergarten families to the building for Kindergarten screening. Our media center will also be open in the morning for families to drop in and explore several different book tasting centers by our new media specialist, Jenn Black!
On Friday our ESOL students are invited to Fiesta Conexiones at Conder from 4:30pm-7:30pm. If you are a Cluster teacher this year, I do hope you will stop by and visit the fun event!
We are excited for everyone to return on August 13! Beginning at 7:15am that morning, our community partner, Verizon, will welcome everyone through the front entrance with a CLAP IN! They are tickled about this for all of you! We will kickoff the 2019-2020 school year at 7:30am with a full breakfast served in the cafeteria.
More details about the week of teachers' return coming your way next Sunday! For now, enjoy the last few days of summer vacation and know that we are all excited for a PREMIER year ahead!

Sneak Peek
The district continues to work hard on our safety entrance in the main lobby and hopes to have it close to completion when school begins.
A new cooling tower was added to the Montessori/1st grade wing of the school this summer, also!
We are excited that our very own Ashley Quam has plans to add a mural to highlight the sacrifices of our military-connected children in the weeks ahead!
Our PTO has also graciously agreed to fund a Sensory Path in our courtyard and we are drafting a plan for that.
Exciting updates ahead! We hope you enjoy them!

The Building is Open for you! Monday-Friday
Please be very mindful when moving furniture. Our floors are newly waxed. Please don’t attempt to move any furniture across the hallway floors.
Some of you are relocating your classrooms to other areas of the building. The custodians are happy to support you with that. It’s also helpful to let them know that you’ll leave sticky notes on furniture that needs to be moved. Just write the room number on the note. That way they can do it in the evening when the building is less busy.
You can sign your key out from the office.
You’ll notice lots of construction both in our parking lot and front lobby. For those reasons, you may need to park in the front. If you enter through the front, please come in the side door, over by Mr. William’s office.
FABRIC, FABRIC, FABRIC...I know you all have many questions about what’s allowed and what isn’t. The truth is - so do we. We’ve learned that the State Fire Marshall will be attending the district’s safety meeting in September. About a week prior, our AP will send out a google form to compile your questions. Until then, use your best judgement.
