Note from the Nurse
Parents, please keep your child home if they are not feeling well. This is very important for everyone's safety.
Parents must screen students daily (prior to entering a school bus or school) for the following signs and symptoms of COVID-19:
1.Are you experiencing any of the following symptoms in a way that is not normal to you?
• Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.00 F
• Loss of taste or smell
• Cough
• Difficulty breathing
• Shortness of breath
• Fatigue
• Headache
• Chills
• Sore throat
• Congestion or runny nose
• Shaking or exaggerated shivering
• Significant muscle pain or ache
• Diarrhea
• Nausea or vomiting
2. Have you had known close contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19
within the last 14 days?
**Students must stay home if they answer “yes” to any of the above.
- Students may transition temporarily to the CFISD Connect remote learning option during this period with the ability to keep up with instruction and meet attendance requirements.
- Students who show symptoms of COVID-19 at school will be evaluated by the nurse. The nurse will determine whether that child can remain at school.
- Before a student may return to school, established criteria must be met as stated in the “Students Return to School Protocol”.

· GT/HORIZON SCREENING-GT Testing Referrals for mid-year testing closed November 30th. Mid-year testing for Kindergarten is January 7th-January 29th. Mid-year testing for First-Fifth Grade is January 7th-February 12th.
· CORE ESSENTIAL VALUE FOR JANUARY- The district-wide Core Essential Value for January is Responsibility! Responsibility is showing you can be trusted with what’s expected of you!
PBIS CAMPUS
Holmsley Elementary continues to be a PBIS campus. PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Support.
Our goal is to establish school wide expectations and acknowledgement systems that everyone adheres to in the building.
The acronym P.A.W.S. stands for:

W – Winning Attitude
S – Show Respect
Holmsley’s PBIS Program
Holmsley is proud to be entering into its sixth year as a PBIS Campus. PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Support. This program focuses adult attention on acknowledging positive behaviors in students. It also provides a universal matrix for procedures and expectations throughout the campus. Your students may talk about their P.A.W.S at Holmsley. P.A.W.S. is an acronym that stands for Practice Integrity, Act Responsibly, Winning Attitude and Show Respect. Parents can participate by discussing the importance of integrity, responsibility, having a winning attitude, and showing respect at home.
