First Week of School Edition
Message from the Principal
This newsletter contains new/updated information regarding transportation and the first day of school.
Bringing out the best!
Ms. Midkiff, Principal
Construction Update - Please pardon our dust!
Some items are still in progress so please make note of the following:
- We will begin the year with a cold menu for breakfast and lunch due to ongoing construction in the new food service area. We expect this to be for about two weeks. See menu below.
- We always have grab-and-go breakfast, but we will also start the year with grab-and-go lunch. Delivery of our cafeteria tables has been delayed so grab-and-go lunch is only temporary. What this looks like is students will go through temporary lines in the cafeteria and take their breakfast and lunch back to the classroom areas to enjoy their food.
- Our parking lot and car rider line entrance are not complete due to more than expected rainfall this summer. Please use extra caution when entering and exiting the car rider line and parking lot as cars will use the same lane for entering and exiting. We will have CFPD on-site the first few days of school to assist with this traffic flow.
- CHANGE - We are going back to having car riders in the main parking lot to the north of the school. Buses will load/unload in the loop in front of the cafeteria.
Transportation
The first two weeks of school, please expect transportation delays. Each day will get a little better as we establish routines.
Car riders will begin the year entering and exiting the same lane into the parking lot due to ongoing construction. Please help make sure that everyone stays safe by following our staff's directions, staying in the designated lanes marked by cones, etc. We will have staff with signs directing students when it is time to unload. We also have signs letting drivers know when it is ok to be moving and when we need all cars stopped for loading/unloading.
If your child will be a permanent or regular car rider, please use this link to register for a car rider tag.
First Day of School
For safety reasons, we do not allow parents to walk students to class on the first day of school (or any other day). On the first day of school, teachers need to focus their attention on greeting their new students and making them feel welcome in the classroom.
If you choose to drop your child off on the first day of school, please remain in the car rider line and do not try to park as our parking lot is still under construction. Our car rider lane will stack in the main parking lot and load/unload in the area with the awning along the north side of the building adjacent to the new addition.
Breakfast and Lunch
All students at Yeager will receive free breakfast and lunch. Parents may put money on their child's account for a la carte items. If your child brings cash for a la carte, any amount of change will be credited to their account.
We do not accept lunch deliveries for students (parent drop off of fast food or delivery services). If a child forgets their lunch kit, glasses, jackets, etc. we can accept those in the front office.
Please continue to monitor our district's Lead Safely Plan for updated information about our plans for a safe school year for our students and staff.
Yeager is a mask-friendly campus! Students are encouraged, but not required at this time to wear a mask. When you met with your child's teacher during Meet the Teacher, you will have an opportunity to request a mask zone for your child if you choose. A mask zone is an area of the classroom with other students who are also wearing a mask. Parents who send their child to school wearing a mask may decide whether or not they also want their child in the mask zone. In the mask zone, we will keep masked students together as much as feasible.
All of our playground equipment will be available for students to use this school year. The hardtop is still currently unavailable due to construction, but it should be available for basketball by late September.
We will continue to sanitize frequently and have hand sanitizer throughout the building.
Spirit Shirts
Please use this link to purchase your 2021-2022 Spirit Shirts! We are excited to offer both t-shirts and hoodies this year. Spirit shirts will ONLY be available online. We will not be selling spirit shirts on campus. The deadline to order is September 12th!

Apartment and Residential Leases- Current leases must be kept on file for each student for continued enrollment. If your lease has or will expire before the start of the 2021-2022 school year, a current lease will be needed.
All students on a Verification of Address Affidavit that have not completed the second required step of providing 3 documents with the correct address and their name as proof of residence will need to complete step 2. The affidavit is to establish residency for a student who is living with a parent/guardian in a residence that they are not owning/renting.
