Mrs. Farmer's Weekly News: September 14-18

  • The students wrote their first blog post on their own personal blog through They read and responded to each other's work to promote their knowledge digital citizenship and reflection.
  • They also created some wonderful pieces through to demonstrate their reading. It was so fun to learn from them!
  • I am so excited for all that is in store Mrs. Farmer's class in the upcoming week!


Common Core Standards Covered This Week:

RL.6.3: Describe how a particular story's or dramas plot unfolds in a series of episodes as well as how the characters respond or change as the plot moves toward a resolution.

RL.6.2: Determine a theme or central idea of a text and how it is conveyed through particular details.

RL.6.1: Cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.

RL.6.6: Explain how an author develops the point of view of the narrator or speaker.

ELACCRL.6.10: By the end of the year, read and comprehend literature, including stories, dramas, and poems with varied complexity.

ELACCL.6.1: Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage.

  • Pre-test on characterization and point of view.
  • Students will be introduced to the Bloom Ball assignment based on our classroom novel, The Skin I'm In.
  • Students will begin work on their first few panels.
