PBIS

Our PBIS team spent some time this week creating our staff/parent handbook and building posters. The team decided to keep things simple. We will not incorporate the bingo board at this time. The PBIS team will plan the monthly celebrations, and students will not use paws to cash in for a menu on the celebration day. Individual Cougar Paws and Golden Paws will get collected at each celebration for a raffle. Teachers are encouraged to have a bucket/container to house the individual paws in the class. The team is looking to purchase/secure these for you. We are looking at getting clips for each mailbox outside of the classroom door to hold Golden paws and a small clear pouch to attach to lanyards (similar to one used for visitors) to store individual paws for staff as they travel the building.

All staff will receive the same information at our staff PBIS kick off on August Institute Day.

School Improvement Planning Through Rising Star

Our last Rising Star meeting is next week. We will approve the School Compact for next year, review direction for next year and look at options for monthly lessons that align with Character Counts to cover our Social Emotional Standards for the school year. Finally we will set dates for next year's meetings.

Hi friends,

In order to give a bit more time to get data from MAP make ups, Grades K- 4 will have our Lit Wall Discussion on Wednesday, May 25 instead of Monday, May 23 during plan time (Kindy at 8:15). 5th grade: Lit Wall discussion will be on Thursday, May 26 during plan time. Please remember to go to your teacher tab on the lit wall to put in 3rd trimester guided reading levels. Thanks so much!

Electronic Building Access

We are pleased to announce that an electronic building access control system will be installed throughout the district this summer to enhance school security for the safety and benefit of our students and staff. This project includes all schools as well as our central office (C.O.R.E) building and Fetzner Center only utilizing specific high usage (not all) exterior doors.

Starting the 2016/17 school year, district employees will use an assigned personal electronic key card to gain access to D47 buildings based on their assigned security access level. To clarify, this only affects EXTERIOR doors as the purpose of this system is to manage building accessibility. No interior doors are included in this initial phase of the project.

District employees will receive their new personal electronic key card as well as related procedures and protocols in early August prior to the 1st student attendance day. We look forward to this enhancement to our school safety and security initiatives.

EZ Write printing for all Gr1 and Kindy

I wanted to let you all know that EZ Write printing for all Gr 1 and Kindergarten sections has been placed and organized for the 16/17 school year. You'll receive the printing, along with your teaching materials if you do not already have them, in August. :)

Have a great and safe day.

Social Studies/History Alive

Hello Everyone:

As you may already know, student workbooks for Social Studies/History Alive will not be provided for the 16/17 school year. The workbooks we have used in the past are no longer published, and in some cases social studies content is integrated into Units of Study plans which may change how a topic/chapter is delivered.

Please send in print orders for any social studies related paperwork that you prefer to use next year to the print shop. You may request that preferred pages from your current student book be copied, or that other items are included as well.

Thanks so much for your patience and understanding. Have a great day.

Window opens Happy Friday Everyone!

In order to provide you with an additional few days to work on progress reports/report cards, access to the reporting side of Synergy will be opened at 4:00 today. Please note that Tech Support will not be available to address any issues that occur until Monday (5/16).

Hopefully the few extra days will help. :)

Have a great and safe weekend.

End of Year Printing

Our district printer has asked to have printing requests for the start up of 2016-2017 sent over before you depart for summer break.

This will assure printing request

completion during summer, delivery into buildings and ready for staff returning back in August.

Thank you for your assistance in helping Carl to keep the printing production running smoothly.
