Hi Climber Families! We hope you have a safe and enjoyable Spring Break! Just a reminder, classes resume Monday, March 20.

Student testing time is right around the corner. If you have a 3rd-5th grade student, please make sure you read below for testing dates. It is helpful for students to go to bed early and get a little encouragement on these days! Also, students are not permitted to have cell phones or smart watches during testing time. We will monitor this here at the school.

Spring pictures will be Wednesday, March 22, 2023. All students will be photographed with their class for a group photo. In addition, you may purchase individual photos of your child with your choice of background.

Payment envelopes will be sent home on Monday, March 20th. For online orders, scan the QR code or visit mydorian.com, search for Cozine, and click on the blue Order button. Any online orders for individual photos must be made before 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22nd.

Cozine Elementary is hosting Career Week from May 8-12, and we are looking for presenters. If you are interested in sharing your career with our students, please let us know, and we can schedule a day and time! SBAC Summative Assessments are coming up for all students in grades 3-5. We need your help! A little encouragement can go a long way in helping students walk into testing days feeling confident—which, in turn, can have a huge effect on their performance. Families can also help their students do their best by ensuring a good night's sleep, a healthy breakfast, and on time attendance for testing days. Also, students are not permitted to have cell phones or smart watches during testing time. We will monitor this here at the school.

• Tuesday, March 28, 5-8pm - Kneaders Night at the Craig and 95 location
• Tuesday, April 18, 4-8pm - Chipotle Night at the Decatur and 215 location

Please watch for fliers for these events as they have important info for online ordering and ensuring Cozine gets credit for your family's purchases.

We are currently accepting interest forms for our Title I Pre-K program. Program requirements are:

• Student must be 4 years old prior the the first day of school, August 7, 2024
• Students can not be eligible for Kindergarten enrollment
• Parent/guardian must transport to and from school
• Student must live in Cozine's zone

Summer learning opportunities will be provided for all Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 students who are currently enrolled in the District. The goal of this program is to provide additional time for students to accelerate learning, engage with peers and adult educators, and improve social-emotional well-being.

Summer Acceleration will be from Tuesday, May 30, through Friday, June 16, 2023. This will be a full school day with student arrival and dismissal times remaining the same as our normal school day, 9:00 am-3:11 pm. Unfortunately, SafeKey will not be available for this Summer Acceleration program.

At this time, we are asking that you fill out the survey below to indicate your preference for this program. The program is voluntary and will be done completely in person. There is no online learning option for Summer Acceleration. A survey must be submitted for each Cozine student that wishes to attend.

This survey is due on Wednesday, March 22nd. We will use this information to help us ensure that we have appropriate staffing for this program. Any requests to attend after this date will be placed on a waitlist and will be honored based on building capacity limits and staff/student ratio availability.
