On Friday, October 21 students will become photographers, archeologists, chess masters, American Ninja Warriors, gymnasts, worship dancers, cup cake decorators, Minute To Win It contestants, actors, and marshal artists. Our amazing staff and wonderful parent volunteers are providing these activities for the children. Volunteers will arrive by 10:45am with lunch taking place in the classrooms at 11:00am. The activities will be in two sessions and will last from 11:30am – 2:40pm. Homeroom moms are helping to solicit volunteers to make this fantastic event happen. Many thanks to all!

American Heritage Girls

The troop year is in full swing for the American Heritage Girls of PA 1301. Some girls have represented the troop in full uniform during Sewickley’s Harvest Festival, some have used chopsticks working on the “World Heritage badge” and some have even gone overnight camping! This month, girls will have the chance to be paired up with a girl from another state through AHG’s National Pen Pal Program. Some girls are heading to Faith Ranch in Ohio this weekend for fellowship and hands-on learning for the “Horsemanship badge.” Upcoming service projects include the initiation of a Little Free Library, packing of Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes and doing some volunteering at Animal Friends. It’s not too late to join the AHG troop this year. Registration is on a rolling basis and dues can be prorated. Contact ahgmoontwp@gmail.com to connect with a board member who can answer your questions about membership. Kindergarteners through 8th graders are welcome! The troop is stronger than ever this year with a wonderful support system of families who are pitching in to show the girls about Faith, Service & Fun!
