Wilson Hill Families
It was another great week at Wilson Hill. This week many of our students celebrated the 100th day of school by dressing up. It was awesome to see all of their festive outfits. It's hard to believe we are already over half way through the school year, but we are ready to make the 2nd half success as well!
Below you'll find some important updates, information and reminders. You can locate past newsletters on the Wilson Hill District Webpage https://www.worthington.k12.oh.us/Page/4946
Please feel free to contact our school office with any questions or concerns.

Science Day 2022
Science Day 2022
The Worthington Science Day 2022 will again be very different as compared to pre-pandemic years. The most notable change will be that no large scale gathering will be held on February 12th, 2022. Students that have completed Science Fair projects or Invention Convention projects will still have an opportunity to receive feedback and move on to the next level of competition. Worthington Schools will also offer a remote Design Challenge students can engage in at home. All other Science Day events, Cubing Competition and the Robotics Competition, will not be held this school year.
Science Fair: Students in grades 5-12 are eligible to compete in the District 7 Central Ohio Science Day. This will be a virtual event. To help Worthington students be successful in this competition, Worthington is offering optional feedback/coaching sessions. If interested, complete this form and Worthington Schools will reach out to help you with project feedback.
Invention Convention: Students in grade K-12 are eligible to participate in the Invention Convention. Projects must be registered and uploaded by April 1st, 2022. To help Worthington students be successful in this competition, Worthington is offering optional feedback/coaching sessions. If interested, complete this form and Worthington Schools will reach out to help you with Invention Convention project feedback.
Design Challenge: Students in grade K-12 are eligible to participate in a virtual Design Challenge. This event will be held asynchronously to allow for the maximum flexibility for students and families. Students will follow a set of specifications to design, build, and share their solution to the design challenge. Once the design challenge has been reviewed for safety, it will be posted on the Worthington Science Day website.

Covid Update
As you are most likely aware central Ohio has been battling another surge of the coronavirus. The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) has recently updated their guidance for what to do if you have tested positive or been exposed. In Worthington we fall under the guidance of Columbus Public Health (CPH), and they have adopted these guidelines as well. You can find the new flowchart in the link below. These are the guidelines Worthington Schools are currently using. If there is any change in these guidelines we will be sure to communicate those changes.
If your child tests positive for Covid-19 or has a "close contact exposure" outside of school, please complete a report at this link or call the Covid hotline at 614-450-3900.
Remote Learning Days - Public health continue to recommend in-person learning with mitigation strategies in place such as universal masking. Based on that guidance we plan to remain in-person for schooling as long as we have the ability to provide staff to teach and supervise students. Our primary goal is to keep students in the classroom. Having said that, in the event of high absenteeism at Wilson Hill we would need to shift to a remote learning day. The central office has a team that is meeting daily to review staff absences in each of our schools. In the event we would not have enough staff at Wilson Hill due to absenteeism we would communicate a "remote day" as soon as possible, hopefully the day prior. Students would be asked to log in and complete some online assignments via one of our learning management systems (Google Classroom or SeeSaw). Families would have the ability to pick up a Chromebook from school if needed on these days. Again, it is our hope to not have to implement a remote day, but we want to clearly communicate so everyone can be as prepared as possible ahead of time.
