"Mindfulness is a state of active, open attention on the present. When you're mindful, you observe your thoughts and feelings from a distance, without judging them good or bad. Instead of letting your life pass you by, mindfulness means living in the moment and awakening to experience." (Psychology Today)
How are you leveraging your strengths? What steps are you taking to manage your potential limiters?
More specifically, as a leader when you are committed to implement a process, are you following the proper Implementation Stages? Here is the recommended phasing for E-Colors in Education.
Requirement Phase:
Select a team of five (minimum) to attend a Leadership Institute/Workshop*.
Design/Creation/Observation Phase:
Pilot strategies with a set of colleagues and/or group of students on-site (campus) after establishing vision exercise at Leadership Institute/Workshop
Production/Implementation Phase:
Conduct campus-wide training/session to build common language, instructional design and community of learners.
Presentation/Completion Phase:
Send one-two campus representatives to participate in a Train-the-Trainer session. This individual or team can conduct future sessions for parents, students, new teachers and/or offer refresher courses for the campus.
Sustainability:
Attend conference to refresh on tools, techniques and strategies, as well as materials. Partake in online courses.
*Leadership Institutes occur on a host campus. The audience varies from students to business partners to educators. A Leadership Workshop can take place onsite of a campus working with leaders of the organization to build capacity.
I look forward to learning more about the steps you and your team are taking to ensure that the strengths of many are maximized within your organization.
