From the Desk of Ms. Clark
August 21, 2018
While enjoying this beautiful summer weather, I still find it difficult to believe that school begins in a few weeks. Hopefully, you have taken advantage of these final summer weeks. The beauty of a new school year is one of new beginnings, and we feel the growing sense of excitement and anticipation that a new year brings to everyone. Here at SKD, we have been preparing for the children's return to school.
As you know, our faculty and staff are committed to providing academic excellence and pathways to Christ in a safe and welcoming school environment. We say farewell to Mrs. Ann Senoyuit who recently assumed a new position and role. Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Mrs. Jennifer Horn who will join our PreK 4 team and Mr. James Fleming who will join our 4th grade team. Along with our new faculty members, SKD continues to grow and thrive each year as we build upon our present curricular foundation and promote many new initiatives.
Once again, SKD will open its doors for students in Grades 1-8 on Wednesday, September 5th. School begins promptly at 8:15am each day. Your child will receive a welcome back message from his/her teacher during the week of August 27th via postal mail.
Please enjoy these remaining days of summer as we eagerly anticipate another fulfilling year! Let us ask God to steady us for the journey of a new school year and give us peace knowing that we never walk alone.
Lunch Monitors- Help Needed
Student Safety First
Please enter the morning drop-off car line with caution. The morning drop off is an express line; parents may not stop and get out of their cars. Students must exit from the PASSENGER SIDE only. Students MUST be ready to exit the car once pulling into the car line drop-off in order to eliminate back-up traffic. DO NOT DRIVE OUT OF THE CAR LINE. PLEASE WAIT FOR THE LINE TO MOVE SLOWLY TO EXIT.
If you need to bring your child into the school building, you MUST park your car in the front of the school and enter through the main school entrance. You must report to the office. No cars are permitted to park or idle in front of the school in the fire lane.
Please make every effort to get your child to school on time. This teaches our students respect and courtesy along with an understanding of the importance of being on time. When a child is late, it disrupts the morning routines of the classroom and often the child becomes overwhelmed.
