Titan Staff News
Week of March 2
Titans,
What a week! I am certain most of you are feeling just as worried and concerned as I am about getting everything accomplished before Spring Break. With the incredibly erratic week last week, I know it leaves many of you working hard to compact the curriculum and keep our students on track. As we work through this week, please do not hesitate to share with me any ways I can assist and support you in that endeavor. When we reach the 4:30 bell on Friday, hopefully the snowy school cancellations will be a distant memories.
Dig deep, Titans! We have a good week ahead of us and I know you can power through!
Kim

Important Information
- Thank you for your flexibility as we have arranged and rearranged our campus schedule!
- Please make sure you read the emails from our counseling dept regarding the Internet Safety/Cyber-Bullying Assembly that will occur on Thurs morning. This is a district-sponsored event that will assist us in meeting our state requirement for teaching about sexting/cyber-bullying. The parents were emailed information and an opt out option this past week. There will be more details about gym seating this week.
- Tues we will welcome our future Titans! Be sure to wear jeans/Titan spirit shirt and greet them in true Tidwell style!
- Information will be forthcoming this week regarding Board of Trustee Awards, Inspire Celebration and other spring events.
- If you are interested in being on the Counselor interview panel, please email me.
If you read one thing this week....
Over the past few weeks I have shared with you an image of a triangle as it pertains to the use of different assessments as data. If you recall, the STAAR and other forms of standardized testing were listed at the top - showing us that they are the least effective in determining instructional practices. What is most useful in instructional decisions are the homework, quizzes and informal/formative assessments you use on a daily basis. I feel you would all benefit from hearing this perspective from our Asst Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction, Dr. Thornell. He wrote a great piece on his blog that I'd like to encourage you to read and discuss at your week's PLCs.
