Hand sanitizer for every classroom
Hand sanitizing stations throughout the building
Regular breaks for hand washing and sanitizing
Signage throughout the interior of the building to indicate traffic flow and as a reminder to wear a mask, social distance, and wash hands
Touchless refillable water stations at every water fountain
Plexiglass and other barriers where social distancing is not possible
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM OUR SCHOOL NURSE
As we begin this school year, many parents will need to drop off medications and speak with their child's school nurse. Since each school is trying to limit the number of guests in the building, please consider calling your school nurse to make an appointment. Nurses are able to take paperwork and medication from a parent in a curbside fashion, but it will be most helpful and timely if you have made an appointment ahead of time.
When hybrid students begin to come to classes, the health room will implement isolation measures for sick children and will provide clarification on close contacts and quarantine expectations. A major goal for the nurses is to reduce the amount of time healthy children are in the health room. This includes, but is not limited to, asking that morning medications be taken at home, minor first aid incidents being taken care of in the classroom, and developing if possible, separate entries for sick and well students. If at any time you have questions, please see CoVid guidance flowchart , Re-Entry FAQ , Mask Requirements or call your school nurse.
MASK INFORMATION
All students are required to wear face coverings while on district property, including the classrooms, on district transportation, or attending a school related activity (e.g. athletic events, field trips, etc.). Certain classes or activities may be granted a limited exception to this requirement at the discretion of the superintendent or his/her designee.
The district will provide masks to students who are unable to provide their own and expects that reusable masks will be washed regularly to ensure maximum protection.
Exceptions for wearing a face covering may include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
mealtimes
outdoor recess where students can maintain a physical distance of at least six (6) feet
administration of medication
when seated at workspaces and social distancing permits, at the discretion of the Superintendent or his/her designee

Helpful ID Tip
Students will receive an ID at the beginning of school at no charge. Students are charged for replacement IDs (see our handbook online).
Students should loop their ID around the strap of their bookbag. Rarely do students forget their bookbags when coming to school, so if it’s attached, most likely, they will have their ID with them every day and not incur any charges.

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION
Car Riders should have their masks on when they exit their cars, maintain social distancing entering the school, and walk to their classroom. Staff will be present and will help guide students to their first block classes. Students who are eating breakfast at school may go straight to the cafeteria upon their arrival.
Dear Parents of Bus Riders:
In preparation for the new school year the Transportation Department is working with each school to identify students who have elected to ride the bus upon our return on September 8th. Parents who have requested bus transportation through the District Parent Re-entry Survey will be assigned to a bus based on Cohort assignments. Once buses are assigned, you will be notified by phone call or email regarding your student’s transportation information. Final arrangements are expected to be completed by August 26, 2020. Students’ assigned transportation after August 26th may not be allowed to ride the bus until after September 29th once seating capacity is determined and route changes are finalized.
Email is the preferred method of communication with our office. Please keep in mind that buses are monitored by the office during the morning and afternoon runs and it may be difficult to reach us by telephone during those hours. If you have questions, please contact the Dutch Fork Transportation office via email at chapintransportation@lexrich5.org .
In accordance with DHEC and Department of Education the following protocols will be in place:
· All buses will be fully sanitized twice a day.
· School buses are authorized to seat two students per seat. Whenever possible, students from the same household will be seated together.
· Masks are required for all students while on the school bus. In accordance with guidance from the CDC and state officials, face coverings must completely cover the nose and mouth. Individuals with medical conditions that prevent them from safely wearing a face covering may seek reasonable accommodations. A request for medical exception must include written documentation, signed by a medical doctor, physician’s assistant, or nurse practitioner, demonstrating that wearing a face mask poses a medical risk to a person’s physical well-being and is medically inadvisable. Disabilities and religious beliefs that prevent students from wearing face coverings may also be considered for exemptions, with written requests for reasonable accommodations. Requests must be submitted to your school administrator before September 8th, the start of school for students.
Parents please remind your students of the importance of maintaining social distancing guidelines which include bus stops locations.
