News from Nurse Emily
Parent Request:
Please remember to pack a weather appropriate change of clothes in every child's backpack. These are not just for bathroom accidents, but also for mud on playground, spills at lunch, rips, etc. This is especially helpful for our kindgarteners and first graders.
Donations Welcome:
Cleaning out your closets? Nurse Emily's office is low on spare clothes. We can accept any child size clothes, but we especially appreciate stretchy bottoms (gym shorts, leggings, sweatpants) and are desperately in need of sweatpants in boys sizes 6-8.

2023-24 Kindergarten Registration - Opens Feb. 6!
It’s time for incoming kindergarten students to register for the 2023-24 school year! Concord Elementary School will be registering students the week of Feb. 6-10.
It is very important that new families do not begin the registration process before the afternoon of Monday, Feb. 6, because the district is moving to a new student information system and will not be using its current SIS Portal for the 2023-24 school year.
Additional information can be found at https://go.lindberghschools.ws/register.

Sora Reading App Gives Students Access to Library Content Online
Our district is committed to bringing unique learning opportunities to our students, and we are pleased to introduce a new student reading app called Sora that provides students with access to read digital books. The collection of titles in Sora is an extension of Lindbergh’s physical libraries, in an app format that provides 24/7 access to ebooks and audiobooks. In addition, our partnership includes access to the St. Louis County Library’s Juvenile collection as well. Sora can help students of all ages read more and improve comprehension. Students of all abilities and interest levels can benefit from this service.
Learn more about SORA by reading the attached PDF.

LHS Representatives Share Student Voice with Board of Education
Congratulations to Lindbergh High School students, senior Althea Bartz-Willis and junior Adam Spree, who are serving as student representatives on the Lindbergh Schools Board of Education. The student representative program is new this year and was created in an effort to enhance student voice and expand student representation in district governance. Board President Jennifer Miller said both student representatives were selected for their involvement at school, leadership roles and experiences that lend themselves to represent student voices. We are proud to have them represent our student voices!

Winter Weather Update for Families
As colder weather approaches, now is a good time to remind families and staff how we prepare for potential school closures that can result from snow, ice, or other severe weather events.
In the event of inclement weather, we will decide to close school based on a number of factors, including student safety, bus transportation, road conditions and wind chill temperature. When possible, the decision to close school is made by 10 p.m. the night before. However, if the decision cannot be made by 10 p.m., then a decision will be made between 5 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. the next morning.
If the decision is made to cancel school, all families and staff will receive a phone call, text message and email notification.
