A Message From Dr. Ricks
Dear Parents,
It is hard to believe that we have reached the midpoint of the 3rd quarter. AR notices will soon be issued in Lower and Middle School. Students still have time to improve on class averages, and if you have any questions about your child’s classes or work please do call the teacher.
This weekend promises beautiful weather for Saturday's Gator House. It is always a fun family event with delicious food and festive company. I hope to see you there!
This afternoon, we had one of my favorite Grace events, the Kindergarten Krewe of Zoo parade. It was exciting to see all the children in their animal costumes and creative floats. We also heard the debut of our Middle School Stomp Band. These kids have practiced hard this year, and it was wonderful to hear their efforts come together with such an amazing beat!
On Thursday, we were privileged to hear Willie Santiago speak about his experiences. Mr. Willie is from Cuba and is spending some time in Monroe as a guest of Grace Episcopal Church. The students were blessed to learn from him, and we are thankful to Fr. Richard Norman for working our students into Mr. Willie's schedule. His inspiring words about building relationships and remaining hopeful resonated with all who were in the audience. I was most moved when he said, "To forgive is to remember without bitterness." Indeed, listening to his words about life and faith was time well spent.
