Evaluation Question 4
Photoshop
I used photoshop to create my poster and my magazine. Due to me being more experienced within photoshop this year I was able to create more effects which I was not able to last year. This year I used drop shadows, liquify layers and more advanced backgrounds. I also used many other features which I did not use last year. This year I had to change opacities of images to make these fit in with the genre and look all like one image. This software is helpful as I am able to save things as I go along and go back change and improve things according to your audience feedback.
iMovie
I have used iMovie to create my trailer. I hav enever used iMovie until I started to do my trailer. I this I instered my footage cropped it to the lengths I wanted it and inserted the sounds I also changed the volumes of these to suit the mood which is intended. For the footage I changed the exposure and brightness to again create the mood which was intended. I have also used iMovie to present some of my evaluation questions as I felt this was a suitable way to show the images I needed and present the sounds aswell.
Blogger
I have used blogger in both years as I have used it to document the progress of my creations. I have also used it to present the research and planning which has gone into these projects. As opposed to last year I have done more posts as I have done lots more research and planning as I had 4 pieces to create rather than 2 and I had to have in depth feedback on my roles within the trailer making. I have also presented the final pieces and my evaluation on blogger.
Garageband
I have used garage band to record the voice overs and some sound fx such as the key tones and the stalker voice over. I also used this in the early stages of my research as I created a sound test which I uploaded onto soundcloud. I had not used garage band before starting this project which was the reasoning behind the sound test which I created.
Prezi
I used prezi to present different ideas throughout the research stage. As I used prezi last year I found it a lot easier to use this year and it did not take as much time to create a presentation. However I did not do as many as I would have but the macs had a problem uploading the website.
Slide share
I used slideshare to upload my powerpoints I had created for my research ad planning onto my blog. I also udes this last year so I knew how to use it for this year.
Powerpoint
I used powerpoint to create the presentations which I uploaded through slideshare. I used it to created the pitch, proposal and treatment. This was easy to use as I have been using it for many of years. It also helped me structure my presentations easily.
Cannon 1100D SLR camera
I used this camera to take the photos I needed for my poster ad magazine. I also used the camera to film the trailer. I have got my own camera of these which meant that I knew how to use it and it didn't take as much time as I expected as I didn't have to figure out how to use it.
Word
I used microsoft word to create my questionnaire at the beginning of the year. I also used it to create the production documents.
Sound cloud
I used sound cloud to share the sound effects and the sound test which I created. This was the easiest way to embed these into my blog. I did not use this website until this year however I felt that it was straight forward and easy to use.
iTunes
I used iTunes to store all of the sound effects and music I had for the trailer s this made it easy to import into iMovie and it made it clear and easy to see who the composer was when I was creating the sound log.
Youtube
I used youtube to put all of the stages of trailer making onto as this was an easy way to share to get audience feedback and it was easy to embed into my blog.
Social networking
I used facebook and twitter to gather audience feedback as this was the easiest way to access my target audience as the age group was my age and this is who I have on facebook and on twitter. This meant that the questions were going straight to them.
