Tiger Teacher Topics of the Week

Mrs. Jester's Math

This week, Mrs. Jester's 6th grade math classes will be determining equivalencies among fractions, decimals and percents. We will also be comparing and ordering these equivalencies using the symbols >, <, and =.

Next week, Mrs. Jester's 6th grade Pre-AP Pre-Algebra class will continue working with reflections and rotations on two dimensional figures. The students' Tessellation Project is due on December 2 and there will also be a test over similarity and transformations on December 2nd.

Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Turnbow's Math

Mrs. Turnbow and Mrs. Campbell's math classes will be moving right along with Fractions, Decimals and Percents.

Mrs. Reynolds' Spanish

This week we will be learning house and furniture vocabulary and will describe our homes. We will also be learning and practicing our verbs. Lots of new vocabulary this week!!

Ms. Jasper's Science

Will will finish chapter 3 lesson 1 this week and start lesson 2. We will be discussing thermal energy in depth, as well as other types of energy.

Ms. Clark's Science

After finishing making an electromagnet and a motor, we are ready to turn attention to thermal energy until the end of December.

Mr. Janzen and Mrs. Anderson's Social Studies

Mr. Janzen and Mrs. Anderson's geography classes will be starting a physical map of North America right after Thanksgiving. We will then transition into a chapter on the United States. We will discuss our history and our expansion westward as a new nation.

Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Frank's English

In English, we are beginning to write our argumentative essay. We will be using our workbook Performance Assessment.

Mrs. Edwards' Literacy

In Literacy, we will continue reading The Running Dream. As we read, we will be working on skills such as: reading comprehension, inferencing, vocabulary, reflecting on what we have read, discussion groups, and drawing illustrations based on the story.
