THE RISE OF ROBERTS OCTOBER 17-21
THE AVIATOR
What is Question #3 in our PLC?
Did you know a thimbleful of gunpowder channeled precisely through the barrel of a rifle is more powerful than an entire carload burned in the open air? This is why we need to focus our energies on the most important things in our lives and work. Imagine your focus and energy being the equivalent to gunpowder. Are you burning it in open air or focusing it powerfully in the direction of what matters?
This is why we need to focus on our PLC. Roberts, we have four questions that are the core of our PLC. These questions are absolutely fundamental to the PLC process. Question number three asks us, “What will we do if they don’t learn?” In response to this challenge, we created Destination Time, a unique intervention time designed to focus on our students that need purposeful and laser focus instruction. This is our time to use data to create small groups that are tailored to meet our students’ needs. During Destination Time, we must use pre-assessment data to plan instruction, provide one-on-one and small group instruction and reassess to check for mastery. We must revise our teaching methods to meet more students’ needs. These next nine weeks, let us plan with purpose for our intervention time. We only have a limited time to close the gap.
This Wednesday, you can wear jeans and a professional shirt of your choice. Thank you for all your hard work. I truly enjoyed coming into your classrooms this week to see how you connected and pushed our students to the next level.
