Dear Parents,
What a great celebration of MES DE LA PATRIA! We would like to thank you for attending our Mes de la Patria Presentation. Our children did an amazing job and it was a huge success. Pk4 dancers proudly exhibit their clothes and the performances were a great example of showing respect to Panama’s culture and traditions. We hope you truly enjoyed the show. Thank you Ms. Amelia!
To end our clothes unit we talked about special clothes people wear to work. We looked at many community helpers pictures, and played various games. We also went to visit some workers in our school to see their uniforms. Special thanks to our ISP Dolphins who keep our school clean and beautiful! During circle time, it was so funny listening to the children telling us what their parent’s job was. We also read and discussed Little Red Riding Hood, Jesse Bear What do you Wear? and Who Wears What. Books are always an important part of our daily life in PK. Pre-kindergarteners should be read to at least once a day, two or three times if possible. Reading aloud to children is the best way we know to teach them to love books.
During small groups, students made a book using photos of people in work clothes. We used interlocking cubes to count and find the numeral quantity card.
Next week we will start our new study unit called WHEELS! At the end of this study unit, we will have a fun activity for the kids.
