Light Farms Weekly Update

Week of October 18-22, 2021

Campus News

My apologies for sending the newsletter on a Tuesday, however it was brought to my attention that quite a few families did not receive it on Sunday afternoon as usual. I hope this week is off to a great start for everyone!

It was a short but great week at Light Farms full of learning and fun! We hope all of our families enjoyed the recent fall break and look forward to seeing many of you next Friday evening at the annual PTO Fall Carnival! Additional information is provided below.

Daily Health Screener

Students and staff are expected to self-screen daily for possible COVID-19 symptoms, just like last year. If your child is exhibiting symptoms listed on the screener, please remain at home and complete the form for Light Farms (included below). Nurse Blasingame will then be in contact with you regarding any needed next steps.
We continue to encourage all students and staff to wear a mask while indoors (especially when in close proximity to others) to help us mitigate the spread. For additional information about COVID protocols and our campus case dashboard, please click here.

Counselor's Corner

Please see the information linked here regarding a four-part parenting series from Prosper ISD titled "Building & Supporting Successful Students." The first opportunity will be Wednesday, October 27.

Parent Lunches

Beginning October 4, parents who have signed up for lunch with your child will have either the outdoor picnic option or an indoor option using tables on the stage (due to space) in the cafeteria. The first fall sign-up link is included below:

However, the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid is available for pre-sale! If you pre-order this book, your student will be guaranteed a copy. It is possible that we may run out of copies at the actual fair.

Complete this attached form with all information and send either exact cash or a check made out to Light Farms Elementary by this Wednesday, October 20. I must have form and money by Wednesday in order to meet the Scholastic deadline. If you have any questions, please contact me:
