Holiday Giving Program

Help brighten the holidays for families in the Vernfield Community! During conference week, stop by the decorated tree in the foyer and select from the paper Angels or paper Christmas Trees. There are a variety of clothing, toys, and gift cards (Walmart/Grocery) needed. Please return gifts by FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7th, wrapped with the angel/tree taped to the present and put gifts under the tree in the foyer. Thank you for your generosity!

Gently Used Spirit Wear Collection

During conference week, we will be collecting gently used Vernfield Spirit Wear. There will be a box in the lobby where you can drop off items on your way to your child's conference.

Thank you!

The Yearbook Committee is looking for student artwork for the 2018-2019 Yearbook cover!

5th Grade - please use an entire sheet of paper for your design and follow the directions sent home on Tuesday! Please remember to put your name ON THE BACK, but so that it doesn't bleed through! (Form is attached below)

All other grades - Please follow the instructions sent home on Tuesday. Make sure to keep your drawing within the box provided. (Form is attached below)

Submissions are DUE ON FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7! Any questions? Email Sandra Esposito at sandra_esposito05@yahoo.com.

Holiday Shoppe

A much-anticipated annual event, Vernfield's Holiday Shoppe will be held on December 3-6 during the school day. Children will have the opportunity to shop for the special people (and animals!) in their lives, and all items are priced $.25-$5.00.

Please look for budget envelopes to come home on Tuesday, November 27th. Help your child create a list of people and budget, and send it to school on the day specified at the top of the envelope. You can send cash OR purchase a gift certificate for the shop at https://holidayshop.org/gift-certificates/.

The shop is set up and run by parents. If you are interested in volunteering or have any other questions, please contact Diane Gerhart at dm_gerhart@yahoo.com.

Character Counts Books Presentation

At Monday's HSA meeting, our librarian, Mrs. Lightstone, presented the parents with a summary of all of the books which were chosen to be received by every Vernfield classroom as part of the Character Counts book program funded by the HSA.

September's selection, Wishtree, was the inspiration for this year's school theme. Vernfield . . . a school where kindness and acceptance grow. A list of the books for the rest of the year appears below.
