Message from the President
Dear Husky Families,
Welcome to the Bonnie Holland Elementary School PTA and the 2022-2023 school year! It is an honor to be able to serve again this year as your BHE PTA President and I look forward to the many exciting things our PTA has planned for this year.
During this past summer, your '22-'23 PTA Board Members and Committe Chairs met and starting planning ahead for the many events coming up this year. Already during this first half of the month of August we had our first "Chalk the Walk" event to welcome back our staff and teachers as they returned on their first official day back. We also hosted an all grade level "Back to School Playdate" for our students to meet and greet each other on our BHE playground before school started. Our PTA helped organize the "Meet the Teacher" event this week to welcome families back to the tundra and our Hospitality Team provided a special "Welcome Back" luncheon for our staff and teachers.None of this would be possible without your support.
Our PTA is made up of parents, grandparents, guardians, teachers, staff, and other members of our community who are committed to improving the educational experiences of our children. We invite each and every one of you to join us by becoming a PTA member. Just by joining you are making your voice heard. The larger our community, the greater our impact.
Our goal is one PTA membership for every student at BHE "to make every child's potential a reality."
It is also our goal as a PTA to have a positive influence on every student at BHE. To achieve this, the PTA organizes many activities and fundraisers throughout the year. Your participation in school events enhances students’ experiences by providing an opportunity to have fun and interact with friends, teachers, and family outside of a classroom setting.
With all that is planned, there will be numerous volunteer opportunities. I know your time is valuable, but if you are interested in helping in any way, we will find a role that fits your availability and your interests. Our VIPS (Volunteers in Public Schools) are the backbone of our organization.
Please feel free to contact us throughout the year with any comments, questions, or concerns. Together, let’s make this another phenomenal year at BHE! Mush on!
Husky hugs,
Tina Park
PTA President

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
Beginning the second day of school, students will need to be independent with making their way to their classroom (BHE staff and safety patrol students will be ready to help students needing a helping hand).
Please read the VERY IMPORTANT arrival and dismissal procedures before the first day of school. They can be found by clicking on this link: BHE Arrival & Dismissal Procedures (When parents know the dismissal procedures then our systems will work efficiently. We will be intentionally slow the first week of dismissal to ensure that everyone makes their way home safely. Please be patient with school staff.)
