Georgia Milestones Assessments

Congratulations to our students for all their hard work during Milestones during these past two weeks. A big thank you to all of our parents for all your support! Dyer Bears rock!

Important Reminder From The Cafeteria

Today was the last day that students were able to charge lunch. Please take a moment to log into MyPaymentsPlus and make sure your child has adequate funds available in their lunch account for the remainder of the school year.

Volunteers Needed!

While we celebrated Teacher Appreciation during the month of March, the PTA will be hosting a special Luncheon on Tuesday for the entire staff in honor of Custodian, Cafeteria & Teacher Appreciation Week.

Of course, we couldn't do this without your help! PTA has arranged a catered lunch from Del Rio, and we are asking for parent donations for the dessert bar. If you are able to help with this, please send in a dessert item on Monday. You can drop your dessert off in the front office. Just be sure to let Mrs. Marshbank know if your item needs to be refrigerated.

We are also looking for volunteers to help monitor the students in the cafeteria while the teachers enjoy a duty free lunch. If you are able to help out, please sign up here!

For the 2016-17 school year, our school system is using an easy-to-use secure registration system that will allow you to complete many of the required forms online. You may access kindergarten online registration by clicking HERE. Online registration is available 24/7.

If a family who is registering a kindergarten student has older elementary students already enrolled in GCPS, they should go ahead and complete their information online while registering the kindergarten student. Make sure you have your older student’s GCPS Identification Number. Students use their identification number for lunch and computer access. They should be able to give you their number. The number can also be found on report cards and Parent Portal.

Please complete online registration by May 4th to ensure a smooth registration process on May 5 (1PM – 6PM).

Media Center News

The last day for book check out is Friday, May 5. All books are due on Wednesday, May 11. Please help your children find any missing books. If a book is lost, please make arrangements to pay for the lost book.

Information about our summer learning program is being sent home in the Friday folders. There are two parts to the program this year: reading 60 minutes a week and completing 45 pages in the Summer Bridge Activities workbook. We are excited about the prizes the children will earn if they successfully complete both parts of the program. See the flyer for more information.

The Summer Reading Buy One, Get One Free Book Fair will be here from Tuesday, May 10 - Friday, May 13. Be on the lookout for flyers.

Volunteers are needed for the book fair. All volunteers get 10% off of their purchases. This is a great deal when it is a buy one, get one free fair!
