Spice up your Slides!
- Slides Carnival: This is the most popular one. They add new themes monthly and you're sure to be able to find one for almost any special time of the year.
- slidesgo: I saw a tweet by Jen Giffen (@VirtualGiff - get it? get it?) sharing this site and while limited, I was impressed by what I saw, which is what led to the next site as well. I really like the CV Presentation, even if not for a CV.
- SlidesMania: In response to Jen's tweet, Seah Fahey (@SEANJFAHEY) responded with his current fave. This site says that they release new templates weekly. From this site, I really like the Sinclair.
Check them out and let me know which ones are your favorites!
Engaging the Student with Dyslexia in the Gen Ed Classroom
This could be how I have to wear my contacts to be able to see my hand in front of my face. But it could also be someone with a reading or vision disability using the Read & Write Chrome extension, or someone with an attention disorder using a digital organizer like Todoist (which is one of my new apps!).
As a final project for one unit, I had to create a website. Because I hate to create anything "just because" (don't our students feel the same way?), I spoke with Amy Scheifflee in our FCS Assistive Technology department and designed THIS WEBSITE entitled "Engaging the Student with Dyslexia in the Gen Ed Classroom."
I think you'll find that many of the recommendations simply meet practices for good instruction. Take a look and let me know what you think. I'm happy to add or edit, as needed! If you would like to see other similar sites for other student populations, please let me know and I'll see what I can do!

To purchase the book, click THIS LINK. Note that the link is to the Kindle version, but you can always change versions. The book has "discussion questions" at the end of every chapter, which is what we'll be using for our book study.
