Suicide Prevention Week! - Message from Ms. Lockett
It's Suicide Prevention Week!!!
The students in performing arts have already been hard at work this school year! We have teamed up with Agency 515 and produced an event called Live to Tell the Story. Each day of the week at lunch we will have experts and students alike leading conversations around mental health. Lunch will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis and is taking place in the Black Box Theater.
Every day after school will be featured performers, DJs, local and in-house resources, activities, and more!! Ms. Lockett is performing, Ms. Melissa is performing and of course, we have some talented Lincoln Hornets performing! Ms. Lockett will be teaching the Lincoln Shuffle every day as well and on Friday we will hit it all together in a pre-game celebration! Check the flyer for the schedule. Everyone is invited every day after school from 3:30-5, really hope to see you there if you could share this with family, students, and the community that would be awesome!!
Today we also acknowledge the 22nd anniversary of September 11, 2001. We remember and honor the victims and first responders who risked their lives to save others.

Tips for Talking to Teachers
Students should always talk to their teacher first. Do not send a friend, a parent, or another teacher until you have tried to resolve the situation. Adding a third party can confuse the situation. Teachers appreciate students who can approach them on their own.
Make an appointment. Passing periods are not the best time to discuss a problem. No one is at their best when they are in a hurry. Both you and your teacher will be better able to think the problem through when you are both free.

Dear Mr. Doe,
Would it be possible to arrange a time this week to discuss my latest exam? I am available any day after school. It should only take about 15 minutes.
