GenTX Week
Generation TX, better known as GenTX, is a project of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). GenTX consists of a movement to get high school students across the state of Texas excited about their futures by providing the information and support they need in order to determine the right path for them. Whether it’s college, the military, or a career, GenTX has resources available.
JMS is supporting GenTX week by educating our students about the importance of higher education and comprehensive grade-appropriate information regarding the pursuit of higher education in our Career, Leadership, and Success classes.
Student Attendance
Absences/Attendance Regular school attendance is essential for a student to make the most of his or her education— to benefit from teacher led and school activities, to build each day’s learning on the previous day’s, and to grow as an individual.
When a student is absent, the student must bring a note to the attendance office within three days of the absence. After three days, parent notes may not be accepted and the absences will be considered unexcused. A maximum of three (3) parent notes per semester will be accepted as excused.
Transportation- Bus Riders
1. All students that ride a JISD school bus must return the signed page of the Bus Rider Handbook to their bus driver and or the front office at JMS.
2. Per the bus rider handbook perfumes and colognes are not allowed to be used on the bus.
3. Students need their SmartTag when they enter and exit the bus.
