President's Message:

Our PTA partners in crime, Allyson Arp and Missy Balleydier, pulled off a FABULOUS MCES Carnival! Thanks to all the volunteers that stepped up to help. We couldn't have done it without you all!


Congrats to all the raffle, cake walk and silent auction winners! We hope y'all had a great time!


Whew.... We are keeping out volunteers busy this month! Next up is Boosterthon! We hope all the kiddos are collecting pledges and getting ready for the big day!

THE PEP RALLY for Tracks 1-2-3 is on APRIL 11th and for Track 4 on APRIL 20th. Please mark your calendars now for the FUN RUN DATES so you can come cheer on your student! All grades in Track 3 will run on APRIL 19th from 8:45-9:45.

Science Olympiad Update

Congratulations to the 2016 Science Olympiad Team. Our Varsity and Junior Varsity teams each brought home a 3rd place trophy. This is a great accomplishment as the regional tournament was far more competitive than previous years. We brought home 2 gold medals, 12 silver medals, and 7 bronze medals. In addition, two of our teachers, Jessica Peterson and Kelly Cancro, took first place in the Duck Tape Challenge!

Spring Carnival Wrap-up

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Spring Carnival a huge success!


We would especially like to thank Ms. Parrish and Ms. Wendland for being so

supportive of this event, as well as our wonderful custodian, Mr. Wilson, for lending

a much needed helping hand.


We had a rock star committee this year, so a BIG SHOUT OUT to:

Stephanie Nedock, Paige Ricciardi, Amber Eaton, Amy Barfield, Debbie Flanigan, Tessa Bonnett, Lynn Bernstein, Caroline Bird, Beth Lewis, Jenn Keane, Becky Shimkets, Julie Kennedy, Nicola Wentworth, Amy Shaw, Stacy Parr, Laura Simmons, and Glenn Covington. A big thank you also to Lynette Zarrett for helping us get the word out as well as Heather Lynch and Brandee Chandler for their tremendous support. We could not have done it without our many parent and staff volunteers as well as local middle- and high school student volunteers.


Thank you to our vendors and those who donated items for our silent auction, kids’ raffle

baskets, cake walk, and book swap. We also saw great success with our new Teacher Raffle, so thank you to the staff members who are volunteering their time to share a fun experience with some very lucky students. Finally thank you to everyone who attended the carnival this year. We hope you had as much fun as we did!

McDonald's McTeacher Night Fundraiser Success!

The results are in! We raised $360 in just 3 hours from our McTeacher Night at McDonald's. A HUGE Thanks to all of the teachers who volunteered AND all of the students and their families who attended. The money raised will go toward our goal of getting a new K-2 playground!

Mark your calendars for fun outings in May & June!

On May 11 & 12, we will be having an ALL-Grades Eat-Out at Ruckus Pizza on Tryon & Kildaire Farm Rd. The best news is that the TWO classes with the best attendance will win a Pizza Party for the whole class!


On Saturday, June 4th, 1:00-5:00pm, we will have our first 4th and 5th Grade End-of-Year Outing at Jellybeans Skating Center. Come celebrate the end of school AND help raise money for Middle Creek. With every $7 admission, $1 will be donated to our school.

Snack Support

The snack cupboard is beginning to run a little bare. If you are able to donate snacks, they would be much appreciated. These snacks are distributed by Mrs. Fillard, school counselor, to students that cannot regularly afford to supply their own daily snack. Thank you in advance!

Volunteers Needed for the School Store:

We are looking for school store volunteers for the 2015-2016 school year.


Tuesdays: K-2 kids welcome from 8:00-8:25am
Thursdays: 3-5 kids welcome from 8:00-8:25am

The school store sells little pencils, erasers, fun little school items for kids to purchase - prices range from $0.10 - $2.00, so kids can easily afford to buy something even with a little bit of pocket change.
