The Middle School Fall Rally will focus on specific programming and the needs of middle school FCCLA members.

Be a Teacher Day will be November 8, 2019 at Banker's Life Fieldhouse.
The day will start at 12:30 pm
Cost: $10.00 per student and includes a ticket to the Pacers Game

Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship
The Indiana Commission for Higher Education is accepting applications for the fourth cohort of the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship<https://www.in.gov/che/4680.htm>. The scholarship provides 200 students up to $7,500 per year (renewable up to four years) in exchange for agreeing to teach in Indiana for five consecutive years. Students interested in applying must:
* Be in the top 20 percent of their class, or have a top 20 percent ACT/SAT score

Amazing Grant Opportunity
Earn Funds while Ending Tobacco Use
Earn $100 for Taking Down Tobacco Sick of seeing JUULs in your school? Get your members involved in the Taking Down Tobacco initiative from the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. This organization offers free lessons and resources to help students understand the deadly effects of tobacco use and how they can use their voices to #BeTheFirst tobacco-free generation. The first 25 advisers or chapters to lead a Taking Down Tobacco 101 training in their classroom, school, or community, will earn $100. Chapters that train 75 youth or more will also be entered to win one of three $1,000 prizes. This contest ends December 6, 2019, learn more here!

Power of One features Lesson Plans for each unit, an Introductory PowerPoint and PowerPoint for each Unit, five units of updated ideas and information, and a new submission process to make the process easier for the state adviser. The new guide contains a fillable submission form the adviser can save on her computer. These forms will be required to be attached in the portal when the adviser submits names for national recognition, making it easier for you to verify the students who completed all units when you approve the submitted names!

AdCap Funding
As a proud partner of FCCLA, AdVenture Capital (AdCap) provides funding and support for students ages 13-17 who want to lead and create healthy changes in their schools.
AdCap funding can be used to supplement existing FCCLA programs such as Student Body – check out some of the AdCap projects that were created by our FCCLA chapters across the nation here.
Here’s how your chapter can get involved!
- FCCLA Advisers can register their chapter to attend a FREE local AdVenture Capital innovation workshop with the chance to design and pitch ideas to compete for funding “shark tank style.”
- Upcoming event on November 13 (registration required): The Find Your Balance Challenge in Washington, DC
- Are you an FCCLA member ages 13-17? Create a student account and submit a Project Design directly at AdCapYOUth.org for grants of up to $1,000 to bring your idea to life!
- Advisers, Stay Up to Date on the 2020 AdCap Challenge! The AdCap Challenge is a team-based, national competition for students ages 13+ that takes place in the Spring. Student teams help solve real-world problems ranging from food insecurity to technology dependency - with funding and college scholarships for the winning team! To sign up to be notified when registration is open, FCCLA advisers can go to AdCapChallenge.org and enter your email under “Send Me Updates” on the home page.
