Extended Hours in the Media Center!
Need extra time to finish up a paper? Looking for a place to study or read after school? Interested in a little tinkering in our Makerspace area? Our Media Center is now open and staffed for students from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Students wishing to ride the activity bus should get an activity bus pass from one of their classroom teachers.
A New Friendly Face in the Media Center
After 23 years of service to Shakopee High School, Ms. Moriarty retired over the summer. We congratulate her on her retirement, are grateful for her time at SHS, and wish her much happiness in this next chapter of her life!
Please stop by the Media Center to welcome Lynn Fountain to our school as our new afternoon Media Center Assistant. We are excited to have Ms. Fountain join our staff!
Haven't checked out our Ebook Collection Yet?
We are at 373 ebooks, and growing! If you haven't checked out an ebook yet, now is the time. Simply go to Mackin Via and log in the same way you log into a computer (Student ID#, password). Search by genre or by title! Be sure to let Ms. Reishus know if there are other ebooks you would like to see in the collection. Students and staff can download the free Mackin Via app for easy reading on their phones or tablets.
Need a good book to read for DEAR on Wednesdays?
Students, stop by the media center to check out our new GENREFIED fiction section! Fiction books are still organized alphabetically by author, but are grouped into: Adventure, Classics, Fantasy, Graphic Novels, Historical Fiction, Horror, Humor, Mystery, Realistic Fiction, Relationships, Science Fiction, Sports, and Urban Lit.
Teachers, sign up to bring in your homeroom students for book checkout for DEAR Wednesdays.
