Housing Application Process 101

Interested in living on campus for 2019-2020?
Below is all the information you need to go through the Housing Application and Room Selection Process with ease. If you want to live on campus next year, please read the information below carefully so you will know exactly what to do and when to do it, and have the most rooms available for you to select from.
REMINDER: If you are a CURRENT first-year student you are REQUIRED to live on campus for a second year if your permanent address is not in Bexar County according to our two-year residence requirement.
Step 1: Start the Housing Application and Pay the $100 Application Fee
On Monday, February 11th by noon, the online Housing Application opens to returning students. You will be able to start the Housing Application and pay your $100 Application Fee. In order to receive a lottery time slot, the application fee needs to be paid by February 22nd.

Step 2: Research Housing Options and Select Roommates
You can research the various housing options, look at the room configurations, the number of roommates per space, and see spaces where you can select a room with the chart below. Those that have paid their $100 Housing Application Fee can move forward with the housing application and create a personal profile to help find and choose your roommates, who have also started and paid their $100 Housing Application Fee.
Step 3: Get Your Lottery Time Slot
Check your email after 5 pm on Monday, February 25th to receive your lottery time slot for room selection, which will be assigned to you randomly based on your classification as defined in the chart above. Save the date and time you receive in your phone or planner, and set a reminder so that you can select your room at the earliest time available to you. If you can't make the exact time assigned to you, you can still access the portal to select your room any time that same day after your assigned time.
Step 4: Create a Roommate Group (ONLY if applying to live in Perigueux Hall, if not continue to Step 5)
In order to qualify to live in Perigueux Hall you must:
- Be a part of a four-person roommate group
- Have 45 hours or more as of December 2018
- Have attended the university for more than 1 year
- Have paid your $100 housing application fee
- Select a group leader with at least 60 hours and have the group verified by February 28th.

Step 5: Select a Room
Return to the housing application during your lottery time slot to select your room.
- The portal will direct you to the Room Selection wizard where you can see what is available.
- Select your building, floor, room number, and bed space, and roommate(s) if desired.
- If your first option is not available, you must pick something, as spaces do fill up quickly.
- There will be instructions later about a wait list if you did not get your preferred building.
- You will not be able to change rooms or your "accepted" roommate after you select and confirm your room selection online.
- If you are part of a roommate group, your group leader will receive instructions on how to select your suite, please discuss beforehand which bed you would like in the suite with your group leader.
