EECV Family Newsletter
March 2022 - News and Information for our Families
Message from the Principal
Dear EECV Families,
As we continue through the school year we have many fun and engaging activities planned. This month's curricular theme is Growing Up Healthy. Throughout the month, our students will be engaged and learning about how healthy habits lead to their growth and development.
Our students will be be learning through hands on experiences with these ideas in mind:
- My Senses: The 5 senses help me explore our world.
- Taking Care of Myself: I know how to be healthy.
- Eating Well: I eat healthy foods.
- Staying Safe: I know what to do to be safe.
I also wanted to remind you that our only fundraiser of the year is happening now. Our fundraiser partner is Elyria's own Suzin L. Chocolatier. Fundraising allows EECV to hold family events, bring in special visitors to our school, and purchase EECV t-shirts for our students each year. We appreciate you being a part of our fundraising effort this year. If you have any questions please contact the school office.
I wish you a happy and healthy March and thank you for your support! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at any time.
Sincerely,
Jackie Plantner, Principal

Preschool Registration for the 2022-2023 School Year
Students planning to remain in Preschool at EECV must re-register for next school year. Spaces will fill up quickly so please do not delay. Registration paperwork will be sent home with your child based on your response to the 2022-2023 school year intent form. Please return forms as quickly as possible to hold your child's preschool spot. You may also receive a call from school secretary, Mrs. Bruening, if we have any questions about the program placement for your child. Feel free to call the office at any time to discuss your 22-23 school year plans for your preschooler.
If your student is transitioning from Preschool to Kindergarten you will receive information regarding this transition and any steps you may need to take.
Students transitioning from Preschool to Kindergarten DO NOT need to complete new kindergarten registration.
We will be holding a Registration Event on Saturday, March 12th at Ely Elementary for Preschool and Kindergarten. Please recommend EECV to your friends and neighbors with Preschoolers!

Visiting the EECV Office
The Main Office of any school building is a hub of activity. Students and staff are always on the go, in and out of the space throughout the school day.
It’s an active place for regular check-ins and meetings with students, as well as staff conferences and daily interactions with school principals and counselors. The Main Office is also a confidential space at times for conversations and interactions between school personnel and students.
Parents and caregivers are part of the equation, too. For any number of reasons, parents may be asked to come to their child’s school during the day. When that happens, parents should follow the district’s visitor procedures by using the school’s main entrance buzzer and intercom system to gain entrance to the school, and then signing in at the front desk.
If parents/caregivers do not have a meeting at the school but still need to come to the school during the day to see their child or to speak to a staff member, call-ahead notice or an appointment is required.
This ensures parents will be seen in a timely manner and upholds the safety practices of the school.
To contact the Main Office, please call 440-284-8250.
