Students Learn About & Create Lollipop Moments In Viking Leadership Academy

This past week the Viking Leadership Academy met during "Howell Time" on Wednesday. The continued focus within VLA was on the theme "Inspire Other Vikings." The students in VLA learned about "Lollipop Moments" and the effect that they can have on others and not even know it. Students had the opportunity to recognize a staff member that has created a lollipop moment for them by having a card and lollipop delivered to them. In addition to recognizing staff, the Howell staff on Thursday during the monthly staff meeting also learned about "Lollipop Moments" and had the opportunity to recognize a student that has created a lollipop moment for them. The activities were meant to help others see that we do not need a title to be a leader. We are all leaders and do great things for people daily, we just fail to recognize or thank others for what they do. Below you can find a quick video that explains the lollipop moments. We hope all of our staff, students and parents continue to lead within our Howell community and recognize and acknowledge the efforts of those around us that create such a positive culture within our programs and community.

Staff Spotlight - Jessica Aebischer

Each week we will spotlight the great staff we have at Howell that make our activities, clubs and sports possible. These Vikings put in a great deal of time to represent Howell in positive ways and add so much to our Howell family. Being attached to the Howell building and our community is important for not just students but also staff. This week we highlight our Viking Way sponsor Jessica Aebischer.

Name: Jessica Aebischer

Activity Sponsored: Viking Way

Years Sponsoring At Howell: 6

Why do you choose to be a sponsor? I enjoy being able to get to know my students outside of the classroom, and Viking Way is a fun way to get more involved in the school community. I like sponsoring Viking Way because we offer many celebrations for both staff and students, such as the potato bar, Teacher of the Year, GPA celebrations, and Mr. Viking.

What do you enjoy most about Howell? The sense of family we have here at school and in the community. I often receive compliments about our school when people hear that I work at FHHS or see me out and about in a Howell shirt.

In my spare time I like to …... run 5k races (I have run at least 1 per month for the last 2 ½ years), make crafts and scrapbooks, cook, and go on adventures with my son

DECA Hosts Dodgeball Tournament

Thank you to all students and staff that participated in the Howell DECA Dodgeball Tournament on Saturday. A special congratulations to the "Dodge Fathers" for winning the tournament.
