Keyboarding Without Tears
KWT is finally up and running! Students are generated a secret code so make sure you log in to the website and print those out for students to use. Please let me know if anything is not working or you need help in any way!
What's Happening in the Library this Month?
Kindergarten
Students are learning about the non-fiction sections and what the numbers mean (Dewey Decimal System)
1st Grade
We are working on the sections of the library and recognizing call numbers. All students created their own call # with their picture. They are hanging in the library so stop by and check them out!
2nd Grade
We are working on sections of the library and using Destiny Quest to find the books we want. We will soon learn how to put a book on "hold".
3rd Grade
3rd grade went on a Destiny Quest scavenger hunt and we are continuing reading the novel Zoey and Sassafras. This book is about a girl who cares for mythical creatures in her backyard. Students were then tasked with creating their own mythical creature out of legos!
4th Grade
Started our read aloud Crimebiters: My Dog is Better than Your Dog. We started discussing Digital Citizenship and their digital footprint and will continue to discuss these topics through November.
5th Grade
We are continuing to read The Wild Robot from last year. We also are discussing Digital Citizenship and your digital footprint and connecting that to staying safe when online and using social media.
Please share your suggestions!
Please fill out the Google Form below if you would like to share book suggestions. I am looking to update the non-fiction sections of the library and would love feedback on books or topics that would support your curriculum.
ISF Grant = More Diverse Books
The Issaquah Schools Foundation generously donated 20 books to each Elementary library with the goal to increase the diversity in our books. Send me an email or stop by if you would like to check some out!
