The Odyssey
March 17th, 2023

From the Principal
Hello MQSCA Families-
The Pi day contest winner goes to Keegan in 7th grade, he was able to cite pi to the 100th digit. Mia, also in 7th grade, cited to the 106th digit, but made one mistake on the 80th digit. A couple other notable accomplishments for each grade are:
Tristen in 1st grade 25 digits
Abby in 3rd grade 12 digits
Jade in 4th grade 34 digits
Naomi in 5th grade 39 digits
Nick in 6th grade 70 digits!
Great job to all those who tried to win the pie! Keep practicing so next year it will be 150 digits!
A huge thank you to Shaelyn in 1st grade who brought all her friends from Trinity Irish Dancers to MQSCA to perform for the whole school on March 17th. All of our students enjoyed the performance that the Trinity Irish Dancers put on. Trinity Irish Dancers left free dance class cards with me. If there are any MQSCA students that would like to learn more about Irish Dancing, please come and see me.
Stations of the Cross During Lent:
Each Friday during Lent students will participate in student led Stations of the Cross. Parents and families are welcome to join us at 2:30pm.
In Christ-
Mr. Lee
Wisconsin State Forward Testing
MQSCA will begin the Wisconsin State Forward Testing on March 21, 2023. 3rd through 8th grade students will all be required to take the Forward Exam. We are excited for our students to show off all of the knowledge they have learned so far this year! Teachers will communicate home what tests will be given on which days, as not all grades may test on the same days.
Help MQSCA get known! Like our page on Facebook!
One of the easiest ways you can help our school is by liking our Facebook page and sharing our postings. This is important for our school during the enrollment period! We have learned that the best way to advertise our school is through Facebook, not on the radio or in a newspaper. I know, who actually likes social media?!!
The second best way to help our enrollment is you! Word of mouth is also another way to get families to join the MQSCA family. If you here someone looking for a school, spread the word of MQSCA. We are putting together a incentive for current families to earn for recruiting new families. The more students you can bring to MQSCA, the more you can earn! Look for more information coming soon!

Home & School Organization
We value each of you as a partner in your child's education. We are looking to start a Home & School Organization at MQSCA. Our goal is to strengthen the partnership between families and school, so together we can help provide a quality education for all of our children. The organization will serve two functions at our school: build a sense of community and lead fundraising efforts to enhance our school climate.
We are currently looking for volunteers to help carry out the many activities that go on at our school. Volunteering is a great way to meet other families, get involved in your child's education, and give back to the school. We work as a team to create events around your ideas, unique talents, and availability. The commitment will include participating in monthly meetings and assisting with planning and facilitating events. Events may be anything that brings families together or improves our school like a spring dance, Teacher Appreciation Week activities, car wash, movie nights, picnics, a restaurant fundraiser, and much more!
If interested in participating, please send an email to Jill Klein, School Counselor, at kleinj@mqscateacher.org.

Safe Enviroment Training
In order to be involved in any school activities, including chaperoning a field trip, coaching a sport, or volunteering in a classroom, you have to be safe environment trained. Below is the link to register for a training. No exceptions will be made, it is an archdiocesan mandate. If you plan to volunteer now, or in the future in any way, you MUST have attended a safe environment training. Please reach out to Bryanna Hill if you have questions about safe environment training, if you need to be trained, or if a new background check needs to be conducted. If you think you have been in safe environment training in the past, but are unsure, please double check.
