February Parent Edition

When we’re talking about diversity, it’s not a box to check. It is a reality that should be deeply felt and held and valued by all of us.

Principal's Corner
I can’t believe it is February already and the end of the school year is approaching. We look forward to a busy next couple of months full of fun, learning, and family engagement. We are excited to have in-person learning and to be working with your child. I hope all of our families find the SCES Newsletter informative along with the other sources such as Class Dojo and the Schoolinfo app. Keeping this in mind, I would like to stress the importance of protecting the integrity of instruction. I need your help to ensure that students are at school at the start of the day which is at 8:00 a.m. and until the end of the instructional day at 3:00 p.m. Our teachers, support staff, and children work extremely hard to maximize learning experiences in hopes to set the tone for a positive and successful academic school year.
Additionally, thank you for taking seriously the responsibility of your child’s education. Thank you very much for your continued support and for helping us make Sussex Central Elementary School a place of teaching and learning. Please remember communication, collaboration, and commitment is the key to our success. We can’t do this without you. If you should have any questions or concerns please contact the school. Together we all can make a difference and grow a stronger community.

Great work! | Ms. Wynn's 2nd Grade Class Check out Ms. Wynn's young scholars enjoying a nice lesson in the school's foyer. What a great way to venture outside of the normal classroom routine to provide an alternative to instruction. We're sure the students enjoyed it! | Mrs. Nurney's S.T.E.A.M. Class A special thank you goes to Mrs. Nurney's S.T.E.A.M. class. Thank you for allowing your students to participate in celebrating Principals Appreciation Week. Students created posters thanking their principals and they were posted throughout the school. Check out the stylish Ms. Webb and Mrs. Reavis! |
