Mrs. Frishe's PreK Class

Week of February 8, 2016

Smaug, the Mighty Bearded Dragon

It appears that our class pet, the bearded dragon, now has a name. After a class vote, we decided on Smaug, the dragon from The Hobbit. The students love observing him during the day and report regularly on what he's doing. Each day we have a dragon trainer and that person helps me prepare food and water for Smaug. We have grown very attached to Smaug and he has been a great tool for teaching about living things and being kind to animals.

Thank you to everyone who has sent some food in for him. Smaug loves to eat crickets, apples, sweet potato and carrots. I have also ordered Dubia roaches (eww) to add to his menu choices.

Winter Reminders

Please remember to send your child in a warm jacket every day during these winter months. We go outside any day it is not raining and the temperature is above 40.

We still have a few students who do not have a winter change of clothing. Please remember that if your child has a potty accident or a spill of some kind, he or she will need an appropriate change of clothing.
