Alot of people think that a Shamrock has 4 leaves, but it actually has 3, the problem with the 3 leaf clover is that they never even existed. St. Patrick was said to explain the Holy Trinity to people.

It is a holy symbol. On alot of statues St. Patrick is holding this symbol.
