4th Grade Kindness Retreat
Youth Frontiers - Kindness Retreat
Since 1987, Youth Frontiers (YF) – a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization based in Minneapolis – has been facilitating retreats to build positive school communities that help young people realize the importance of respecting themselves and others. Their vision is to change the way young people treat each other in every hallway, lunch line and classroom of every school in America so that today’s young people make tomorrow’s world better. Last year, YF worked with more than 127,000 students and educators throughout the country. Today on our 4th grade Kindness Retreat, the YF Retreat Staff, along with high school student volunteers, focused on creating a more positive school community by engaging students in a variety of activities that build students’ empathy skills and teach safe ways to help prevent bullying and unkind behaviors. It was an amazing experience for everyone involved.

Weather, Windchill and Inside Days
Weather, Windchill, and Inside Days -- What to watch for. At Cooper we follow www.weather.com and watch for temperatures that fall to -10. Whether its the actual temperature, the windchill or feels like temperature, if it reaches minus 10 (-10) degrees we stay inside. This way we know that we are safe to be outside for 30 min recess when the temps are warmer than -10. Be safe and stay warm!
