Mrs. Thomas Honored with "This Bud's For YOU!" Award
Mrs. Angie Thomas Honored with "This Bud's For YOU!" Award at Vienna-Finley Elementary School! During a recent staff meeting, Kara Dulaney, the previous recipient of the "This Bud's for YOU!" Award at Vienna-Finley, presented Angie Thomas with the award for the month of November. Dulaney, a third grade teacher at Vienna-Finley, stated the following in honor of Thomas, a third grade teacher at Vienna-Finley: "This month’s "This Bud’s for YOU" Award at Vienna-Finley goes to someone I have had the pleasure of knowing for a long time. When the opportunity became available for me to move back to Vienna-Finley, I knew it would be challenging, but I also knew that Angie Thomas would be great to work with and would help ease the transition. Angie immediately jumped in and helped guide me on all things third grade. I am constantly picking her brain and she is always happy to help. Angie is the kind of teacher you would want for your own kids. She cares about her students and creates a learning environment where students feel cared for. She pushes them to be their best and celebrates their successes. Her classroom is a happy place to be due to her dedication to her students. I admire Angie for her ability to juggle life with her family and three very busy kids while also dedicating her time to her students and co-workers, like me, all with a smile on her face. I am honored to get to work with Angie and can not thank her enough for all she does to make Vienna-Finley a great place to be." Congratulations Mrs. Thomas!

PBIS Braves Bucks Are Piling Up!
Our students are working hard for those Braves Bucks! Each time they exhibit good behaviors, staff members may award them with Braves Bucks. These bucks are used to purchase the PBIS prize for the month and one lucky winner is drawn from the used bucks each month, as well. Our students and staff are loving this new programs and working hard to earn those bucks.

IMPORTANT: BACKGROUND CHECKS
PBIS Braves Bucks
Vienna-Finley began a new positive behavior program this year as part of the Scott2 elementary initiative with Positive Behavior Intervention Support, otherwise known as PBIS. Through this program, students are recognized for positive behavior choices and awarded Braves Bucks, which can be spent each month a special PBIS prize. Once spent, the bucks are used monthly to draw one lucky student and staff member for an additional prize. Vienna-Finley held the first Braves Bucks drawing during lunch on Tuesday, August 29th. The lucky winners for August were Lilly Goetzinger and Mrs. Lindsey Cazares! Congratulations to everyone who worked to earn Braves Bucks as part of the new PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) program. Great job!
We have a great new way to keep in touch at VFES! EventLink!
