Eagle Eye

Eastview Elementary School - November 2018

Students of the Month

This month we have focused on being good problem solvers. Each month teachers nominate two students who exemplify the month's character trait. The students’ names are recognized on the daily announcements, and their picture is placed on the wall in the front hallway for the month.

Way to go Eagles!

Message from the Principal

A couple of weeks ago Eastview participated in Red Ribbon Week along with many others all across the United States. This was a time for all people to take a stand against the illegal use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. Part of the activities included an art contest. The winners of this were Destiny Black, Kinley Rader, Bella Farmer, Loran Austin, Blakelynn Branstetter, Taya Christian, Kaceik Lunsford, Elizabeth Gibbs, Summer Combs, Makynna Ferguson, and Izzy Swininger. I am very proud of all of our students for their participation in these important activities. I would especially like to thank Ms. Miller and Mrs. Silcott for all of their hard work in organizing the events!

Respectfully,

Mr. Small

Fallapoolza:

We had a very successful Fallapalooza again this year! We would like to thank all of the parents, teachers, staff members, and high school students who helped organize and carry out this event. We know our students had a lot of fun! Many parents were involved again this year and every available staff member was here. Your commitment to our kiddos is impressive!

Parent-Teacher Conferences:

We would like to thank all of the parents and guardians who were able to attend parent teacher conferences. Creating a partnership between home and school is vital to the success of our children. This year we had over 97% of our families attend parent teacher conferences. This is the highest participation we have had in the last five years, which is especially impressive given that our enrollment is up this year!

Box Tops Update

Miss Phegley's class was the first quarter Box Tops winning class. They earned the privilege of taping Mr. Small's to the wall. Thank you all for supporting this PTO fundraising effort!

Student Council

The Eastview Student Council is sponsoring a canned food drive from November 19th to November 30th. All items collected will be donated to those in need here in Fayette County.

PTO

Our next PTO meeting is scheduled for November 14 at 5:00 p.m. We will be planning for Santa's Shop.
