Car Pick Up Line
Just a few friendly reminders about the pick up line at dismissal.
1) Please be sure that if your child is not normally picked up in the car pick up line that you call the office prior to dismissal so we can add them to the pick up list.
2) Please remind your children to move quickly to the exit and to your car at dismissal time. A reminder about positive behavior while waiting would help us as well.
3) Please remain in the line until cars are loaded and all can move forward uniformly. Please do not get out of the line to pass cars unless directed to do so. This creates a safety issue when cars begin to try to pass each other in the pick up line.
* Below is a funny video about car pick up lines. Please view it with the sense of humor with which it is intended. If we can't laugh at ourselves, who can we laugh at.
2020 January MakerSpace News - It’s snowing in Makerspace
Our students are learning about snow and the water cycle this month in makerspace. Students will be thinking snow at all our different stations. They will be making six sided snowflakes with various materials, racing ozobots through a snowflake patterns, using patterns to create beaded snowflakes, skating snowflake patterns as they learn the geometry of angles on Hour of Code with Anna and Elsa and much more. Students will also be thinking about the water cycle as they create 3 dimensional models of the cycle, build water related lego objects, and make stop-motion videos using yarn and felt that demonstrates their understanding of the process.

School Fees
1. If you need to set up a payment plan please contact the Treasurer's office at 440-572-7021.
2. Send in a check made out to Strongsville City Schools or SCS to the front office at Whitney thru your students book bag.
3. You can also pay your school fees on line at PaySchools Central. You can find the link on the right hand side of the screen at www.strongnet.org.
4. The PASS system will be cut off as of January 13 for those students with outstanding fees according to the Treasurer's office policy.
5. If past years school fees are outstanding your student will not be allowed to go on field trips until all fees are paid. This is a district policy.
Also if you have not updated your Unified Classroom information this also must be done for emergency contact information for all field trips. Again these must be completed before going on a field trip. We still have a few students that this information needs to be updated in PowerSchool. If you need help feel free to contact the office. We would be more than happy to sit down with you and help set this account information up in PowerSchool. Please understand if this is not updated your student will not be allowed to go on the field trips. Again these are district policies.
Thank you for your understanding. Should you have any questions feel free to contact Mrs. Wynn at 440-572-7180.
A message from our guidance counselor, Mr. Schibley
Winter Reminders
Please also remind your children that they are NOT to pick up snow or ice at school, during recess, or at bus stops. Snowball fights are fun when at home with a few close friends or family, but at school, at the bus stop, during recess, etc., throwing snow often results in someone getting hurt. We appreciate your help in supporting us in our efforts to keep everyone safe by having this conversation with your children. Thanks so much.
