Tell Me More!

This summer, help your horse-crazy student make great strides in reading comprehension skills by bridging the gap between learning to read and reading to learn. Join us at our farm in Vinings for our Reading & Riding summer enrichment program: a fun and evocative holistic learning approach to reading and comprehension!

Through a dynamic combination of reading instruction, fun activities with the horses, and crafts, the campers will learn vocabulary decoding skills, sentence structure, and how to use context clue to increase fluency and comprehension, while also learning basic horsemanship and riding skills. The campers will read a horse-themed book, practice word and sentence production with the horses, and collaborate on a creative writing project! The Reading & Riding horse activities will help them to identify barriers that hinder comprehension and focus, while simultaneously engaging their minds, bodies, and emotions to make their new reading skills memorable for them.
