Tool of the Week- Formative
Kinds of questions you can ask: multiple choice, show your work (yes, students can draw), short answer, and true/false.
Math folks, this is great for you! You can embed desmos graphing calculator images in these assessments. Anyone can add images, YouTube videos and text, and you can even upload current worksheets and then transform/edit them.
If you would like more in depth tutorials, Formative has a YouTube Channel with tutorials for specific tasks that you might be interested in. If you watch the video below and decide you want to try it out, there is a big overview tutorial of how to use it here.

Sound Off!
In the past, we have directed you to SoundzAbound to find music for your teacher and student projects. FISD no longer has a contract with SoundzAbound so the website is no longer available. However, we still own a lot of SoundzAbound sounds that can be used by staff and students. You can find the SoundzAbound music that we own on the W/AMB and on the Mac side (X drive) at the root of all of the school folders (AMB).
Our new music download site is Megatrax. http://www.megatrax.com/
Our login information for Megatrax is below. The username and password must be typed in correctly. If there are too many unsuccessful login attempts, Megatrax will lock the site for two hours. You can also find this information in a side block in the Learning Hub.Please contact your campus DLC (ME at LTHS and CTE) for your login.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if you have a cool project that could use music or sound effects, I can help you out with that!
YouTube and Substitutes
A couple points to clarify:
- Even if videos are approved, students must login to the FISD account to be able to view them. This makes sense, because we don't want students to login to personal YouTube accounts and have access to videos that otherwise would be blocked.
- That means that substitutes have to login to YouTube to be able to show videos to your classes. And they DO have an account to use to do this. HOWEVER, their account is a student account, not a teacher account.
- That means that YOU have to approve videos for students to watch before you are out. Then however you have left the video for them to view, it can be done!
