Professional Development
Fall 2014
My Reflection
This Fall I opted to follow the traditional professional development track and it included a variety of engaging and informative sessions. Some of the sessions I attended included: QAS/The Observation Model, SLDS, Analytics, Grade Reporting, and ePortfolio week. I learned many wonderful things in each session. From the QAS/Observation session I gained tips on ways I can add and document differentiation in my class, one such suggestion was through communication and I intend to use that suggestion when providing feedback to my students and possibly in my discussion groups. As a result of attending the SLDS session, I learned about all of the student data I have access to. I intend to use this tool in future semesters to get to know my students better and develop strategies to better reach them. The Grade Reporting session was right on time and I learned the correct way to document assignments I waived for my students with special accommodations. The ePortfolio sessions were my last professional development sessions for the semester and I thoroughly enjoyed the creativity of the presenters. It was great to see examples of the portfolios of others. I left the sessions insprired with good ideas that I intend to incorporate in the areas of reflections and documentation. Overall I am thoroughly pleased with each of the professional development session I attended this fall and I am so happy that Teacher Quality provide us with this option.
