Stars and Wish:
- Math instructional configuration checks are up and going well. It is so wonderful to see all the support our students get at the table with the teacher - that is where the magic happens for sure! Great planning and teaching is happening for sure!
- I've seen many writing resource journals in use where the teacher shares a writing resource for the students to complete as an activity to increase writing skills and then glue in journal as a resource.
- Thank you to all the teachers greeting students in the hallway each morning - it helps all feel welcome and safe. An easy way to reinforce student relationships:)
Wish:
- Keep helping with dismissal time by getting your kids to cafeteria and settled and quiet. They need to read or do work quietly - no toys or technology. It is stressful for those working inside to quiet kids down - or we need to have more on duty each week to assist.
Trauma Tidbits
Activities are structured in predictable and emotionally safe ways. Warn kids when loud noises may occur, special assembly, or anything outside the normal day.
When kids feel safe and things are predictable they are able to learn better.
