Grading Info for Parents/Guardians
The State Department of Education has determined that we will continue to give numerical grades as we finish out the school year. Florence 1 Schools is adjusting its grading scale for Quarter 4 to meet the needs of its eLearning platform and to benefit the students.
All elementary school (grades 1-6) assignments will count one time each.
Middle and high school (grades 7 - 12) will have the following eLearning grading scale:
Project/Test/Quiz = 30%
Homework/Classwork = 70%
If you have any questions regarding this information, contact your building principal.
The American Counseling Association (ACA) recognizes the month of April as Counseling Awareness Month. This is a great time for us to advocate for the professional counselors and mental health workers and to celebrate their outstanding efforts in their many settings as they seek to facilitate the growth and development of our students.
School Counselors and Mental Health providers support the needs of others in many settings, especially now in these unprecedented times. School Counselors and Mental Health providers have adapted their approach and have done an outstanding job to support the needs of the students, parents, school staff, and community. They are committed to ensuring the success of all of our students through their work.
The ACA has identified this year’s theme as #BurnBrightNotOut— a nod to the awareness that those who have dedicated their lives in ensuring others take care of themselves, also must find time to do the same.
We honor the counselors in Florence 1 Schools today and thank them for their tireless efforts to meet the vast needs of our school community.

COVID-19 Prevention Tips
Here are Dr. Will's Coronavirus prevention tips that needs to be shared with EVERYONE you know to STOP the COVID-19 Pandemic!
1. Do Not Touch your facial mucous membranes (eyes, nose or mouth = T Zone).
They are the portal of entry into human body for ALL respiratory infections, including COVID-19. Remember humans are the petri-dish for COVID-19. We grow and multiply then spread by coughing or sneezing!
2. Handwash/sanitize regularly.
3. Clean commonly touched surfaces regularly (frequently if active disease is present).
Please share this info with the world to help "spread the word not the germs"!
Together WE CAN make a difference!
Remember, your hands are clean only until you touch the NEXT surface.
