ABOUT THE COUNTRY
Lots of families immigrated to Texas because of war. Many Czech immigrants settled in Texas because of overcrowding in Czechoslovakia. They chose Texas because of the wide availability of free land and the overwhelming love of freedom. The areas they settled were Austin's central county, their years of settlement were from 1845 - 1860. There 3 types of food were potato dumpling, whipped cream, and cranberry pie. Their significant immigrants were Carl Pastel, Fredrick Lewinsky, Anthony M. Dignowity, Josef Sterno Bergman. Their national holidays were National sovereignty day, children day, labor day, and New years day.
